AUGUST 17 – SEPTEMBER 2, 2012
ANGEL FIRE, TAOS, RATON, LAS VEGAS
EXTRAORDINARY CHAMBER MUSIC
Music from Angel Fire’s 2012 Season celebrates 29 years of bringing extraordinary chamber music to the magnificent Northern New Mexico communities of Angel Fire, Taos, Raton and Las Vegas. World renowned artists perform an impressive array of works from the great classical, romantic, baroque and contemporary masters. 2012 welcomes Festival favorites Ida Kavafian, Anne-Marie McDermott, Tara Helen O'Connor and Peter Wiley among many others.
ENGAGING CONVERSATIONS
The Closer Encounters Series engages you in an enlightening "behind the scenes" look at the artistic process in an open rehearsal setting. The Musical Conversation Series is hosted by Artistic Director Ida Kavafian at the United Church in Angel Fire and provides a deeper look into the music performed at these two popular concerts.
EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH
Young professionals from the famed Curtis Institute of Music, Philadelphia travel across rural Northern New Mexico presenting inspiring classroom concerts to local students through the Festival's Young Artist/Music in Our Schools program.
COMPOSER-IN-RESIDENCE
The Festival is proud to present a world premiere this Season by renowned composer, Steven Stucky. This commission is made possible through the generosity of the Bruce E. Howden, Jr. American Composers Project.

Both of these events are benefits to help fund the 29th Season.
FESTIVAL POSTER
Each year, a new work by a renowned artist is chosen for the Festival poster. The 28th Season poster was created by celebrated artist Ed Sandoval from his painting titled Trail to Trampas. Supporters of the Festival who contribute $200 and more will receive a copy of the season's poster. A wide range of beautiful festival posters from previous seasons can also be purchased.
