A heartfelt message from a long time patron, collector and donor:
"We are all going through difficult times right now, and our little towns of Northern New Mexico have not been spared. Perhaps they have felt it more than any other places because of the great number of artists who are trying to make a living here. In addition to the beautiful landscape we enjoy, we are gifted by the yearly visit of outstanding musicians. Yes, here in our little towns, the Music from Angel Fire group shares their time and brings their talent in a series of concerts you would have to go to New York or other prestigious places to attend.
Did you also know that Music from Angel Fire visits schools, bringing music to children who might not otherwise have an opportunity to be exposed to that kind of music? They also present family concerts at no charge in rural areas of Northern New Mexico. It is amazing how Music from Angel Fire's artistic contribution is enjoyed by so many people! Our commitment to keep them coming, in spite of these difficult times, depends on all of you, the music and art lovers, who look forward each year to their amazing performances. Could you imagine not having this concert series in the summer? Perish the thought!
I am asking you to remember this gift they bring us when you go to the auction this year, an auction which is the largest yielding fundraising event for the group to come to Angel Fire. Please give generously though times are difficult and let's continue to feed our souls for many Augusts to come! The artists who donated the pieces you will be bidding on have worked long and hard. Think of them and their talent, of the hours they spent on their work and of their generosity when you raise your bidding card, for they make it possible for us all to enjoy this part of life which does not have a price tag; the beauty of music and what it does for our souls." --Madeleine Herrmann--
