Painted Violin by Jennifer Cavan
"There
were two issues I encountered when decorating my violin. One was the knowledge
that I only had one to work with and had better make it work. The second was
figuring out how to clamp the violin to my easel. Otherwise, I approached the
project the same way I do my gessoed panels--using colored gesso, I colored
the body of the violin a deep indigo. I then used my oil pastels to create a
"Nocturne" and finished it with a final varnish."
